The Hong Kong Cycling Association (HKCA) runs an Artistic Stars Awards Scheme to encourage newcomers to artistic cycling.

It is run at the Tsing Yi Cheung Fat Sports Centre and Chai Wan Indoor Games Hall and costs just $70 for eight lessons. Artistic cycling uses a bicycle which has a unique chain system for moving backward as well as forward. Coaching, and all cycling and safety equipment, are provided by the HKCA.

'It's a wonderful programme and is one of the main reasons why we have been successful in international competitions,' said Samuel Yu, Hong Kong's top artistic cyclist. 'This is the best way to experience the sport.'
