It's time once again for the Trade Development Council's annual Food Expo at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will take place from Thursday to August 21. More then 325 food manufacturers and suppliers from places as far afield as Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Italy, India, Taiwan and Malaysia will be selling products such as health and organic food, alcoholic beverages, convenience foods (instant noodles are always a big hit) and bakery favourites.
The expo is open to the public for a HK$20 entry fee (HK$10 if you arrive after 6pm). Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring something to carry your purchases in; you might also want to consider wearing earplugs because it can get quite noisy.
Hall 2 of the centre will function as the trade hall for local and overseas exhibitors' displays.
The Fifth International Conference and Exhibition of the Modernisation of Chinese Medicine and Health Products will also be open (to trade only for the first two days of the expo and to the public from Saturday, August 19 to August 21).
The Food Expo runs from 10am to 10pm except on its last day, when it ends at 6pm.
