Toni&Guy in Central offer hair extensions in bundles (HK$70 each). A full head of extensions can cost up to HK$7,000.


The Hairdressers in Central also charges up to HK$7,000 for a full head. A half costs up to HK$4,500.


HippFish in SoHo charges HK$200 for a minimum of five extensions for colour or highlights. Ten cost HK$400, and so on. If you're adding length, volume and colour, you can spend about HK$2,000.


At the Aveda Salon in Central, a strand of fake hair can cost as little as HK$50, but a full head is HK$3,000 to HK$4,000.


A salon spokesman says you don't necessarily need a lot of extensions to achieve a full-head look, which can take up to four hours.
