Prime spot shared

It's one of the most expensive retail spaces in Causeway Bay but for the next two weeks it will host art exhibits, dance performances, live music and a domino creation. The proprietor of the corner of Yee Woo Street, across from Sogo and Island Beverly, will give the space over to non-profit, non-commercial and free entertainment until August 30.

Normally, the (un)real estate goes for HK$8,000 per square foot but Gigi Chao of CommonSpace - which is the name of the group and the space itself - said: 'The owners have donated it as an interactive arts platform.'

For two weeks it will be fun, creativity and art but future details are vague. Will it remain non-profit or will there be an expensive lease for a fish ball stall or a 7-Eleven? 'It will take on different phases,' Ms Chao explained guardedly.
