Stay healthy by doing regular exercise

According to a recent survey, about 80 per cent of people aged between 40 and 65 have health problems. But less than half of them go for regular medical check-ups.

People don't take proper care of themselves.

The government should remind people that their health is very important.

It should also provide free, regular check-ups for everyone.

The government could also offer free exercise classes. Keeping fit means you will be healthier.

There is a Chinese proverb that says 'health is more important than wealth'. It is very important to remember this.

LO WAI-SHAN

Shun Lee Catholic Secondary School Thanks for your letter, Wai-shan. I wonder where you got your statistics from - 80 per cent of people over 40 having health problems does sound very high. But you do have a point: we should take good care of our health.

Although many health problems don't show up until middle age, they may be caused by things we did or didn't do in our younger years. Looking after your health should begin in your teens.

Anyone can exercise - you don't have to be a member of a fancy gym . The beaches are free and so are our country parks. For a super healthy day of exercise, you could hike through the country park and then cool off with a swim in the sea. And it wouldn't cost you anything.
