The elite of the design world is expected to come to town in November for the Business of Design Week. Canadian industrial designer Karim Rashid (pictured) and John Sorrell, the originator of the London Design Festival, will launch the event.

This year's programme will feature special sessions on design as it relates to luxury goods, museums and entertainment, and as a result a bigger variety of talent is expected to offer its expertise.

Shoe lovers will want to catch Malaysian designer Jimmy Choo who will be speaking about his fabulous footwear and upcoming trends in design.

Czech architect and interior designer Eva Jiricna, known for the non-functional, sculptural staircase, will also give a talk to enlighten fans of great buildings.

Other guests include the director of London's Design Museum, Deyan Sudjic; Chicago-based architect Edward Uhlir, who was heavily involved in planning the city's Millennium Park; and Stephane Martin, the president of the Musee du Quai Branly.
