I live with my parents and grandmother in Stara Zagora, an old city in south Bulgaria. My country is a beautiful place with wonderful nature, ancient traditions and hospitable people.

I'm in Grade 12 at high school.

I mostly study languages, and speak Bulgarian, Spanish and a little bit of English and French.

My other school subjects include maths, geography, literature and philosophy.

Each day, I spend one or two hours doing homework.

In my free time, I like playing computer games. Sometimes I help my parents with housework.

I also like sports - swimming and arm wrestling are my favourites.

At the weekend, my friends and I go to the gym.

We also like to go fishing in the countryside or hang out in cafes, bars, discos and rock clubs.

My favourite rock clubs in Bulgaria are Drums, Prikmeta and Little Rock.

My parents allow me to go out at night because they trust me.

I'm a music fan. My idol is Kurt Cobain, the late lead singer of grunge band Nirvana.

Each week, my parents give me 10 Bulgarian leva (HK$51). My parents are really cool. They have different views about the world.

Mama is more spiritual than dad. Our relationship is really good. They never punish me.

My elder sister lives in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

We have one more member of the family: Miron the cat (above). I like him because he's very sophisticated.

Since I'm quite a sporty person, I like to wear sporty clothes such as jackets and jeans.

I buy my own clothes with money that my parents give me.

I usually eat dinner at home with my family.

Bulgarian food is quite similar to traditional cuisine from other European countries.

The basic food products are beans, sour and fresh milk, paprika, and tomatoes.

The common meat dishes are called kebapcheta (minced meat rolls) and kyufteta (meatballs).

The most common fruits are watermelon and grapes.

Sometimes we have Mexican, Spanish or Chinese food.

Easter is the largest holy celebration in my country.

A sea of people with candles gather around churches at midnight to hear Mass.
