Riding on a high

Hacken Lee Hak-kan insists he's happy with his recording deal with Universal and hasn't heard rumours about Emperor Entertainment Group being interested in signing him.

Lee (right) is enjoying a resurgent career with Concert Hall selling 80,000 copies in Hong Kong and Seoul Concert Hall also reporting strong sales.

'I'm not really sure when the contract with my record company will end. I guess it's sometime next year - I need to check with my manager,' said the 40-year-old singer, who's won admiration for orchestral collaborations and is preparing for a US tour.

'At the moment I can say that we're working together very well and happy as part of Universal,' he replied when told of the speculation about his career moves. 'No one knows how things will go in the end. But staying with Universal is still my first choice.'

Lee, who married his long-time girlfriend, former Miss Hong Kong Emily Lo Suk-yee last month, cut short his honeymoon to promote his new record.
