Personnel changes look to be off the agenda
The International Races having been put to bed for another year in spectacular fashion, interest now moves to the topic of personnel changes which may lie ahead.
With Robbie Fradd taking his leave for Singapore after being one of the re-licensed jockeys for the season's second tranche, we might ordinarily have been awaiting the naming of a new rider.
But with Danny Nikolic getting the benefit of an extra month from the club at licensing time, he would seem odds-on to be granted a further two months' extension to take him through to Derby time and replace Fradd in the roster.
As for trainers, though, it would seem the rumours during international week that the club would move to replace David Oughton with a Chinese trainer were off the mark. Club officials have scoffed at the idea that anyone from anywhere would be named to replace Oughton, whose numbers had dwindled this season and whose former team were comfortably accommodated elsewhere.
Furthermore, the club is mindful of the ever-growing difficulties that face the freshman trainers each year.
It has no wish to make those difficulties any greater by tossing someone into the ring halfway through a season.
