If boarding a plane to get away from it all is too much of a hassle, how about disappearing into a luxury retreat right in the heart of town?

The Luxe Manor, which opens its doors on Kimberley Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, on December 28, is a new boutique hotel that allows you to do just that.

The hotel's design is a modern interpretation of a European mansion and the decor artfully plays with illusion and surrealism. Its 153 rooms are all done in classic style, with European antiques and modern pieces placed throughout the hotel.

General manager Allan Strahle said the decor was something 'even more fascinating and unique than I had expected'. He said a highly creative team of designers had helped fill a niche in the Hong Kong hospitality scene by creating a hotel with a visually stimulating setting.

The Luxe Manor's location near Knutsford Terrace is an added attraction, with many restaurants and bars on the doorstep.

All rooms feature hi-tech facilities such as infotainment, high-definition video-on-demand and wireless voice over internet protocol (VoIP) telephony.

Introductory rates start at HK$1,188. Visit www. for details.
