Stand and deliver - it's the Beccle bouncers

At Operation Santa Claus we like to keep all fund-raising efforts strictly above board and legal.

But blackmail, extortion, trading on guilt and any other dodgy tactics are fine by us, if you think you can get away with it. And, more importantly, if you are under 10.

Any guests attending a Christmas soiree at the Beccle family household in South Bay Road were fleeced for loose change and quite a few red ones by two very efficient bouncers.

Helena Beccle, five, and her brother Edward, seven, stood at the front door of their flat on the night of their parents' annual drinks party earlier this month and wouldn't let any guests in until they had 'donated' some cash to Operation Santa Claus.

It's good to see that Hong Kong's reputation for business acumen is influencing the younger generation of our city. The Beccle bouncers - working entirely on their own initiative - thoroughly and ruthlessly divested the visiting adults of HK$3,000.
