Man held after police seize HK$180,000 of ketamine
A suspected drug trafficker has been arrested following the seizure of HK$180,000 worth of ketamine in Causeway Bay.
Officers from the Kowloon West special duty squad seized 17 grams of the party drug after intercepting the 21-year-old man in Hysan Road on Monday night.
The suspect was taken to his apartment in Leighton Road, where police seized a further 600 grams of the drug.
Police said the man was suspected of supplying the drug to entertainment venues in Kowloon West. One officer said the drug could be sold for about HK$180,000 on the street.
Police believe the drug was smuggled from the mainland. Officers said the arrest was made following a tip-off. The suspect, who was arrested for possessing and trafficking a dangerous drug, was still being held last night. No charges had been laid.
