Ricoh looks for chief to head specialist team
There is a senior position with excellent career prospects awaiting a systems integration (SI) professional with a strong business sense and a good understanding of customer needs.
Ricoh Hong Kong is the direct sales and service arm of Ricoh Corporation in Japan. The company, set up in 1963, has grown to become Hong Kong's leading supplier of document processing machines and related products. Since 1999, the Ricoh copier brand has been the market leader in Hong Kong, according to international research company IDC.
The SI specialist team helps customers streamline business processes by improving office information management systems, workflow and competitiveness. Working with the network solutions centre, the team, along with other engineers, provides network integration and assists in IT projects.
The candidate of choice will fill a newly created position as head of the SI team. He or she will be responsible for leading the SI team in formulating and developing SI business strategies and achieving targeted revenues. The goal is to sustain SI business expansion in Hong Kong.
The team head will work under the sales operations division, using his/her analytical and decision-making skills to develop SI logistics and facilitate workflow. Procurement and other aspects of sales administration are part of the job.
'This is a mission-critical job,' said Irene Lee, senior manager of Ricoh's central services division. She said the person who fitted the bill and met the challenges could look forward to steady career progression.
The candidate should have at least 10 years of IT sales experience with an IT vendor, system integrator or solution services provider for corporate clients. Someone with an established network and relationships with SI distributors and vendors would have a strong advantage.
Prior experience in leading an SI sales and consulting team is required. The right person for the job would have strong business development and people management skills, and be able to interact with people at different levels, within the company and outside.
'We are looking for someone with a good track record in leading SI projects and having excellent relationships with senior management or corporate decision makers,' Ms Lee said.
Someone with good presentation skills and an outgoing personality would stand out from the crowd.
Ricoh has a structured training programme for newcomers. An in-house education sponsorship scheme covers training programmes in soft and hard skills.
Ricoh products include copiers, digital multifunctional document systems, colour laser copier/printers, black-and-white and colour laser printers, facsimile machines and document scanners.
The company also carries office supply products from world-renowned brands.
