Trumpet, ruched, balloon, bell - any style goes, as long as they add volume on the top.


Headpieces The jury is still out on turbans, but hair brooches and flowers are subtle, pretty and, above all, functional.


Higher waistlines From wide-legged trousers to hot pants and dresses, waistlines have moved up.


Pinafore straps Sexier than the spaghetti, with a demure schoolgirl touch.


Bibfronts Trimmed or ruffled bibfronts will update short dresses and shirts.


Bows They're just pretty and girly. Enough said.


Roses Think Laura Ashley fabric, not cut. Also try floral appliques and pin-on brooches. Don't put them behind your ears, though - we're not in Hawaii.
