What is it? An online fitness-training system combining suggested exercises in printable or video format with accessories designed for exercise at home or when travelling, GoFit's Power Tube ensures a full-body workout but fits into hand luggage.

Why do I need this? Travelling can disrupt an exercise routine and hotel gyms are often small and poorly equipped. The GoFit system is convenient and easy to use. Light exercise reduces the effects of jet lag and helps the body adjust to different time zones. GoFit's website offers nutrition, health and fitness advice.

How does it work? Go to and identify the product you wish to use by clicking on 'Product Training'. Each accessory comes with a set of photo-illustrated exercises, plus a 12-week workout with suggested numbers of sets and repetitions. Both are available in printer-friendly format. Alternatively, click on 'Video Exercises' to watch an e-trainer demonstrate each drill.

Tell me more: the 180-gram Power Tube is 122cm long, is made of latex and has padded handles. It is available in three resistance levels (light, medium and heavy) and offers a cardio-karate workout and resistance training. It is easy to use in a small area such as a hotel room and works all major muscle groups except the abdominals.

What's the downside? Because it doesn't exercise the abs, sit-ups are unavoidable.

Where can I find one? The GoFit Power Tube costs HK$77 and is available from city'super in Causeway Bay, Central and Kwun Tong.
