Check out Young Post's daily and Sunday cartoons

Both children and adults enjoy comics, but why?

Comics can be on any topic. There are long stories that last several volumes, short stories that last a few pages, violent stories and jokes.

Comics cost less to produce than other forms of entertainment, so comic artists can produce comics more frequently. And they are more interesting than novels because of the illustrations. Comics originated in America, but there's now a greater selection from Japan. The Japanese drawings are more beautiful.

Japanese comics are popular in Japan and Hong Kong and around the world.

Thanks for your letter, Kin-shing. It does sound as though you enjoy comics. Last year, Young Post became the first Hong Kong newspaper to run TokyoPop cartoons - these are Japanese-style manga cartoons in English.

Two weeks ago we began a new TokyoPop series called 'Mail Order Ninja' (page 11) - I'd love to hear what you think about it. We also publish cartoons by local cartoonists in English. On of my favourites is United Planet by Colon Ho, which runs on Wednesdays. And I also like Rice-gas Time by Kongkee that we publish on Thursdays.

For a feast of comics, treat yourself to the Sunday Young Post - we've got Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, Pooch Cafe, Garfield and lots of other great cartoons.
