It's an inauspicious start of the lunar year for the Jumbo Kingdom Floating Restaurant. It seems the sea-bound attraction is in need of repairs that cannot be performed at its present location in Aberdeen. As a result, the whole structure will have to be sailed (or likely towed) to a dry dock on the mainland. One of the major casualties is Cafe Deco's Top Deck Restaurant, which will have an enforced hiatus for about eight weeks, from March 7 to May 8.

'It is unfortunate that Top Deck has to close for this period but the Jumbo Kingdom boat requires repairs to the hull that cannot be fixed in Hong Kong,' Top Deck operations manager Kenny Chan said. 'Due to the size of the boat and the scope of the work, it will take several weeks to complete.'

Maybe the Jumbo can organise a one-time-only cruise as it sails out the harbour to open water?
