Make small changes to beat global warming

I'm very worried about global warming. I recently read that the problem is getting worse.

If we don't deal with this crisis soon, we will destroy our planet.

We can take small, simple steps to prevent more damage. For example, since the weather isn't very hot at the moment, we don't need to turn on the air conditioners. Using a fan and opening the window use less energy than an air conditioner.

Improve your environmental awareness, and start saving energy today.

Thanks for your letter, Shirley. Have you watched An Inconvenient Truth - the documentary on global warming by former US vice-president

Al Gore? It is an eye-opening and scary film with a clear message: we have to act now.

We can all make the choice to live in a way that shows an awareness of, and respect for, the environment. As you mention, we can decide to only use air conditioners when we really need them, and set them at the recommended level of 25.5 degrees Celsius.

We can also use fewer plastic bags, recycle our rubbish, turn off the tap when we are brushing our teeth and switch to energy-efficient light bulbs.
