A

An adult colossal squid (skw-id), with eyes as big as dinner plates and razor-sharp hooks on its tentacles, has been caught by a New Zealand fishing crew.

The squid, weighing an estimated 450kg, took two hours to land in Antarctic waters. Experts have not examined the squid, but if estimates are correct it is about 150kg heavier than the biggest specimen previously captured. (SCMP, February 23, 2007)
