baptist business team triumphs

A team of four business students from Hong Kong Baptist University have won the championship and the audiences' award in this year's inter-university Business Administration Paper competition, beating more than 100 local teams. The side won with a proposal suggesting a new strategic direction for the Hospital Authority over the next decade.

polyu to launch tourism doctorate

Hong Kong Polytechnic University is to launch a doctoral programme in hotel and tourism management. Run by the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, the programme is aimed at senior executives and academics to meet growing demand. The course begins in September and the deadline for applications is April 30.

cOLLEGE unveils new premises

Chinese University-Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Community College officially unveiled its new campus building in Ho Man Tin this week. The 21-storey building was completed last year. The original campus in Mong Kok, completed in 2005, is empty following the move but the college will be back in use in September.

cityu faculty gains accreditation

The Faculty of Business at City University of Hong Kong has received official accreditation by the European Quality Improvement System. EQUIS is an international system of quality assessment, improvement and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration.

polyu designated official trainer

The Ministry of Personnel has designated Polytechnic University as the only authorised trainer for the China Aptitude Test for Translators and Interpreters in Hong Kong. The qualification is considered to be a prerequisite for achieving professional status as a translator or interpreter on the mainland. Application for the first round of tests closes on Wednesday.
