Synovate HKCC coach Richard Cooke has warned his players an all-conquering season will count for nothing if they fail to beat Crown Valley in the Grand Championship final at King's Park today.

'The fact we are unbeaten this season, and the fact we have won every title on offer, won't matter if we lose to Valley. All those other games don't matter now. What is important is this last game,' said Cooke yesterday.

Hong Kong Cricket Club completed a hat-trick of league titles last month. They have also shown their versatility by winning the Kowloon 10s, the Valley 15s and the Union Sevens to dominate the First Division. Now they seek the icing on their multi-tiered cake.

'The last game is always the most important. If we lose, this will be the only result people will remember and not that we won the league or all the other titles,' Cooke said. 'It will also be fantastic if we can complete the double.'

HKCC will be without backline star Colin Bisley, who was ordered by team management to rest an injured shoulder and save himself for the Cathay Pacific/Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens.

His absence was greeted with relief by Valley.
