To celebrate Easter, drawing competitions are often organised for young people to put their designs on eggs.

In a departure from tradition, a shopping mall in Tseung Kwan O will organise an unconventional egg-throwing competition next month.

Divided into individual and family sections, the competition at Park Central will give students a chance to test their imagination and physics knowledge.

Participants have to come up with a device made from paper, ropes and sticks to carry the eggs so that they will remain intact after falling from the first floor of the mall.

While applying scientific knowledge to make sure the eggs will not break when they land, participants also have to display their artistic creativity as adjudicators will also consider the appearance of the device.

With the theme 'Treasure the Earth', the family section of the competition will require participants to use environmentally-friendly material to make the egg-carrying device. They also have to convey green messages through their designs.

The entries will be judged on the competition day, which is April 6.

Completed forms should be handed in to the customer centre of the mall before this Saturday. Winners will get great prizes.
