Wake up to the reality of climate change

I think it's not difficult to protect the Earth's resources. You just have to change the way you do things. It doesn't cost you any extra money.

Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth.

Put your rubbish in different bins for recycling purposes. Walk instead of using the escalator. The exercise is good for your health.

When you go shopping, bring your own bag.

Do not leave the lights and air conditioner on in an empty room.

Do not sleep with the lights on.

Can you come up with other ways to help protect the planet? Please share your ideas with others.

Thanks for your letter, Jimmy. I'm happy to hear that you are concerned about the environment. Scientists have been talking about climate change for more than a decade, but only now are people waking up to the shocking reality of rapid change.

Not only are we using up the Earth's valuable resources, but our lifestyles are exerting a huge pressure on the planet. I like your suggestions, Jimmy, as they are all about thinking about our impact on the Earth.

If you haven't yet seen Al Gore's fantastic documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, I recommend that you do.
