Hammer used to bash victims

Police last night appealed for information after three violent robberies this month in which the victims were hit on the head with a hammer.

Police said that all the robberies may have been committed by the same person - a man they described as aged between 20 and 23, 1.57 metres tall, of thin build and pointed facial features.

Three women aged between 29 and 35 were robbed and injured in the incidents on March 17, last Tuesday and Wednesday.

The first case occurred at a flat on Castle Peak Road in Sham Shui Po while the others occurred at two flats on Sha Tsui Road in Tsuen Wan.

In all three cases, a man used a hammer to hit the head of his victims after gaining entry into their flats.

All three victims were sent to hospital for treatment.

The robber escaped with a total of HK$2,200 in cash and two mobile phones in the first two cases.

In the third case, the victim managed to struggle with the culprit who was eventually forced to flee empty-handed.

Police said they believed the bandit also had sustained head injuries in the struggle.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the investigating officers on 2760 5561 or 9020 6530.
