March 21, 1909 - Edmund Berkeley was born.
The Harvard University graduate wrote one of the first books on computers, Giant Brains, or Machines that Think.
The good old days . . . Victoria Harbour, Central and Victoria Peak at the beginning of the 1900s. People communicated mostly by letter, and spent their free time reading, talking and playing.

What was life like before the internet?
You may need to ask older family members, friends or your teachers.
You will need to prepare your questions beforehand, and bring a recording device or pencil and note pad with you.
Upload your oral histories to a suitable website. Remember to give your subjects a false name to protect their privacy.

D Internet gambling
There are concerns about internet gambling. More than 70 per cent of Americans aged 10 to 17 gambled at some point in the past year, according to the National Academy of Sciences.
US Congress has banned the use of credit cards, cheques and electronic fund transfers for internet gaming.
