Four sparkly, golden girls were causing a major ruckus in the East side executive level. They were part of the Asia Miles corporate box, which has a bling-bling theme this year.
The Asia Miles girls - Lorea Solabarrieta, Marloes Sonte (both pictured), Alison Tam and Ane Mari Askernes - are in charge of handing out golden medallions, earrings, baseball hats and temporary tattoos to passersby.
'We started doing this at 1pm and the response has been crazy,' says Solabarrieta, who is one of the hosts of TVB Pearl's La Dolce Vita show.
'This bling-bling theme works quite well with the Asia Miles colours,' says Dominic Purvis, Cathay Pacific general manager. 'Bling is in. Every one wants something to take home. We arranged for 500 hats, 3,000 medallions, 3,000 earrings and 10,000 tattoos in two styles. The hats are going quickest. Kids come up to us and try to rip them off our heads.'
The Cathay staff are already putting their heads together to come up with another special theme for next year.
