Time running out for estate tenants

Smokers who light up in common areas of public housing estates are living on borrowed time as the Housing Department gave them a nine-day grace period on a smoking ban. From yesterday, smoking in sitting-out areas, playgrounds, pedestrian paths and rest gardens of estates was added to the housing estate marking scheme. Any tenants caught smoking at the sites will be given five penalty points when the ban's grace period ends on April 10.
