Helping to ensure the refs kept their cool

Temptation to mix his drinks was the capital sin resisted by schoolboy Mathew Bevan during the rugby fest. Together with Andrew Fielder, 18, and Hafidz Arkey, 16, he was one of a trio of waterboys offering pitch refreshments to refs between tries, Mathew was drawn to an abandoned jug of Pimms that found its way pitch-side. 'The thought crossed my mind to mix the ref's cold mineral water with something special - especially when Wales were under pressure,' joked the 15-year-old West Island school pupil and Wales fan. The trio also assisted in administration work.
