Recall on Kit Kat bars
The Centre for Food Safety has called on retailers and consumers to steer clear of two Nestle Kit Kat products after Australian authorities said they could be contaminated with pieces of plastic. The suspect products are Kit Kat Caramel (65g) and Kit Kat Cookie Dough (65g) which carry 'best before' dates up to and including February 14, 2008. Nestle issued a national voluntary recall of the chocolate bars in Australia, saying it believed the plastic pieces had originated in the production process. Supermarket chains ParknShop and Wellcome said they did not stock the chocolate bars. The government said the bars were not imported into the city.
