A hit-and-run cyclist who knocked down and killed an elderly man is being sought by the police.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s, was riding downhill on Tai Hang Sai Street, Shek Kip Mei, when he knocked down 80-year-old Ng Chou at the Tai Hang Tung Road junction on March 22.The cyclist rode off without stopping and did not report the accident.

A woman passer-by called police.

Ng suffered broken ribs and injuries to his arms. He was taken to the nearby Caritas Medical Centre for treatment but died in Kwong Wah Hospital, Mong Kok, the following day.

Officers yesterday issued a sketch of the suspect and appealed for the public's help to find him.

The suspect is described as having long, straight, greying hair, a sharp face, thin eyebrows, pointed nose and thin lips. He was wearing blue jeans and a long-sleeved red jacket with a yellow Shell logo and black Marlboro logo on the back.

The bicycle he rode was an old Phoenix model of dark colour and with no front or rear rack.
