Second seed Kevin Wong Chun-hun got his revenge early when he defeated top seed Martin Lee at the Lions Hong Kong National Junior Tennis Championships 2007 held at Victoria Park.

Wong, last year's runner-up, defeated top seed Lee 6-1, 6-3 to snatch the boys' under-12 singles title.

He will add the trophy to the boys' under-14 doubles title, which he won with Kelvin Lam earlier in the tournament.

In the semi-finals Lee defeated Jonathan Cho 6-0, 6-1 while Wong saw off Yeung Pak-long 6-2, 6-2 to book their respective places in the final.

In the boys' under-10 singles category, second seed Robin Nguy successfully defended his title when he beat top seed Andrew Li 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

Two other boys also managed to claim back-to-back titles at the competition.

Darren Ng successfully defended his boys' under-18 doubles title, teaming up with Kevin Kung to beat fourth seeds Chau Kwun-lum and Lui Shing-fung 6-2, 6-2 in the final.

In the girls' events, second seed Carina Chen beat fourth seed Lin Wing-man in straight sets 6-3, 7-5 to capture her first singles crown in the girls' under-12 tournament.

Last year, Chen was runner-up in the girls' under-12 doubles with Annika Trapness when the pair were beaten in the title by Jessica Ip and Nickie Ma.

Caroline Lampl dominated this year's girls' under-10's field, winning her second consecutive singles title by beating second seed Lau Yuk-yi in the final.

Lampl dropped a total of two games in four matches, and none in the final.

The Lions National Junior Tennis Championships is supported by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

It is one of the most widely anticipated annual junior tennis tournaments in the region, providing age-group competitions for local youngsters from the under-10 to the under-18 divisions.
