Focus of investigation shifts to the capital

Former Beijing deputy mayor Liu Zhihua was sacked last June over allegations he was corrupt and led a 'decadent lifestyle' - Communist Party jargon that usually refers to officials having extramarital affairs.


Since then, there has been speculation that the party's graft watchdog plans to investigate the Beijing municipal government, but the rumours have been denied by Beijing officials, including Mayor Wang Qishan .
