Artists have worked with glass for hundreds of years. But there are only a few glass artists in Hong Kong, and Janice Yeung Yin-ling is one of them.
Yeung's second solo exhibition, now on at Harbour City, features more than 20 glass art pieces.
Yeung developed an interest in glass in 2000. She attended Architectural Glass courses in Singapore and glass blowing courses conducted by Taiwanese glass artists.
Each of her artwork was created from kiln-formed glass. This kind of glass is not found in Hong Kong.
All her materials were imported from Italy and the United States.
Yeung said this kind of glass was harder to work with. Kiln-formed glass of different colours has different melting points.
'Careful planning and preparation is very important,' she said.
