More than 100 travel agencies have applied for a temporary injunction against a new charge levied by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Under the charge, from April 1 passengers booking air tickets through a travel agency have to pay a HK$250 fee if any change of travel schedule or voiding of plane tickets is not made on the day the tickets are booked. The Court of First Instance will hand down a judgment next week after hearing closing submissions yesterday. The writ was filed earlier this month by American Lloyd Travel Service, on behalf of members of the Society of IATA Passenger Agents.
