Have a nice flight
Many young travellers dread the thought of a long and boring flight.
British Airways has launched a programme to collect the views of young people to help improve its services.
Open to those aged eight to 14, the British Airways Kids' Council will allow young people of different nationalities to come up with proposals to make flights more enjoyable.
'Kids are very honest. Their comments can give us ideas on how to improve our services. Their creative suggestions can also spice up our in-flight services,' said Joerg Tuensmeyer, general manager of British Airways.
To be elected to the 12-member council, candidates have to write an essay (about 200 words in English) stating their reasons for joining the council, their ideas for the airline and the things they enjoy most about flying.
Participants must have flown on British Airways at least once over the past 18 months.
The council will convene twice a year at British Airways' headquarters near Heathrow Airport in London, where the young people will attend workshops on the airline industry.
