'Hong Kong is such a hectic city,' says the 60-year-old, who's best known for his community arts projects. 'People don't make the time for family gatherings. I want to create a relaxing and artistic environment for families. As an artist, you can't neglect the social environment.'

Kwok started the Frog King Kwok Museum project, featuring eccentric frog-inspired artworks, when he returned from the US in 2001. It's now at the Cattle Depot Artist Village.

In this interactive performance, participants will don costumes, wigs and 'froggy glasses' before taking part in a series of improvisational exercises with inflatable toys.

Kwok describes the event as an artistic feast, but the content will be prepared without a recipe. 'It's all about improvisation,' he says. 'The materials depend on what I'll collect that day.'

Kwok's signature artworks and installations typically are made of materials he picks up from the street or is given by friends. By using mundane objects, he hopes to illustrate the concept of 'art is life, life is art'.

Frog Fun Family Happening is part of his ongoing project, Frog Love Show, which features his calligraphy, poem-paintings and installations.
