Care worker appears in court


A man appeared in Tuen Mun Court yesterday charged with the murder of former mental patient Chu Siu-kuen, 47, in Kwai Chung's Caritas Jockey Club Lai King Rehabilitation Centre. Li Sai-on, 33, a personal care worker at the centre, was remanded in custody and the case adjourned to May 25 in Tsuen Wan Court.


Two held for trying to rob vendor


Two males aged 17 and 21 accused of trying to rob a street vendor with a knife in Yuen Long on Thursday have been arrested in Tin Shui Wai. The two were being held for questioning last night but no charges had been laid.


Man arrested over steel theft


Police have arrested a man for allegedly stealing 31 steel bars worth HK$1,000 from a factory in Yuen Long. The arrest was made when officers spotted the man, 44, climbing out the window of a steel products factory in Tai Shu Ha Road East at 5.10am.


Car crashes at tunnel exit


A car crossed into the opposite lane of the Quarry Bay exit of the Eastern Harbour Tunnel, crashed into a delivery truck, slammed into railings then hit a passing vehicle at about 11.50pm on Friday. Two men and a woman needed hospital treatment. Police are investigating.
