Junior detective returns
Meitantei Konan (TV series and movies)
Meitantei Konan (Detective Conan) - known as Cased Closed in the US - is a long-running detective mystery manga/anime series by Gosho Aoyama.
Teenage detective Shinichi Kudo solves a murder for the police while on a date with his crush Ran Mori.
As the date comes to an end, he notices two suspicious-looking men and decides to follow them.
He witnesses one of the men receiving a kickback. But as he watches the exchange, the other man knocks him unconscious and poisons him.
But rather than killing him, the poison turns Shinichi into his six-year-old self.
On the advice of his neighbour Professor Agasa, Shinichi hides his real identity.
Taking the names of mystery writers Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Rampo, Shinchi becomes Edogawa Conan.
Professor Agasa arranges for Conan to stay with Ran and her father.
Ran's father Kogoro Mori is a retired cop-turned-private-detective, and Conan hopes to use his contacts to find the men in black and a cure for his condition.
Unfortunately, Kogoro is an awful detective. But with the Professor's help, Conan is able to imitate Mori and solve his cases.
After a 10-year TV series, 10 theatrical movie releases and a few hundred solved murders, Shinichi/Conan is still no closer to reversing the effects of the poison.
The 11th Detective Conan movie, Strategy Above the Depth, will be released in Hong Kong on May 24. Join Conan as he solves a mystery at sea.
