The Chrysler, the Charleston, cabarets and cadillacs

Dior Watch is on a mission to become a key player in the luxury watch market. The Cristal collection became the biggest selling series in all its watch collections within months of going on the market. It is still outselling all other product lines, and company's focus this year once again falls on this collection. Sharon Stone has been enlisted to help 'take the brand where we want it to be', said brand director Jacqueline Lee. Additions to the Cristal line include three models designed by John Galliano which have an art deco influence. According to the designer, the beauty and the constructivism against the couture visible in the Chrysler, the Charleston, cabarets and cadillacs caught his attention. The designer said he wanted to take the excess of the jazz era and make it tap and tick to a modern tune and 'dance in diamonds around the new face of time'. Models include the Intense Black, which has a bezel set with 97 diamonds and a black lacquered dial set with 181 diamonds, plus a stainless steel bracelet which is set with 138 diamonds as well as three rows of black sapphire crystals. An Ice White model has a total of 182 diamonds: 97 on the bezel and 85 on its white lacquered dial. A stainless steel bracelet is set with three white sapphire crystal rows. In the brand's fine jewellery watch collection, La D De Dior, two models are added to the Mitza range. One version comes in yellow gold and has a bezel set with 72 yellow sapphires and a dial set with 184 yellow sapphires; and a second stainless steel version is set with 195 diamonds, 60 on the bezel and 135 on the dial. The dials of both models feature the Mitza brocade pattern - named after hat designer Mitza Bricard, who was one of Christian Dior's muses in the 1950s.
