The report 'First Beijing-selected bishop dies' on Page 8 of last week's Sunday Morning Post incorrectly stated that Wuhan bishop Dong Guangqing, unilaterally ordained by the official mainland Catholic church in 1958 without Vatican approval, was not recognised by the Vatican. Bishop Dong received Pope John Paul II's approval in 1985.
