Name: Lorraine Cheung Lok-hei

School: Maryknoll Convent School

Grade: Form Three

Sport: Tennis

Achievements: Lorraine, 14, took part in the World Junior Tennis 2006 in Indonesia in May last year, where the Hong Kong team finished 12th. She also played in the East Asian Championship for 14 and under in Thailand in March.

Early this year, she played in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Circuit tournaments (Group 4), and was able to enter the semi-finals in the doubles events.

This summer, she will be going to Europe to play in the same junior circuit.

Soundbite: 'I hope to win some medals at the circuit. They play on clay courts over there, and there are none for me to practise on in Hong Kong, so I'm worried about that,' said Lorraine.

'I train for five days a week,

from Tuesday to Saturday. I love to play tennis, because my dad is a coach and I've been playing for

eight years.

From her coach: 'Lorraine has a lot of talent. She had a lot of technical problems when she first started, but now she's very competitive, passionate and wants to play well.

'She's going to be a very good player. She's already a good player in Asia. I see her in the top 500 in the ITF,' said head coach Raphael Maurer, of the Hong Kong International Tennis Academy.

Ambitions: 'I hope my ITF ranking will be higher. I want to go into the top 250. I'm at about 1,100 now,' said Lorraine.
