I REFER to Bill Abbott's letter headlined, ''Unhappy hour at the Godown'' (South China Morning Post January 11). On January 5, I went to the bar to meet my girlfriend.

Being a bit early, I ordered one pint of San Miguel and had to pay $17.60. Clearly this wasn't a ''two-for-one Happy Hour'', this was a ''half-price'' during Happy Hour.

As my girl friend was late upon her arrival and we wanted to leave fairly soon, she ordered a half pint of San Miguel but was served a whole pint. After complaining to the bartender, she received a half pint glass but I still was charged $17.60, with theexplanation that during Happy Hour, half pints weren't available as it was ''two-for-one''.
