The driver of a container truck who caused a fatal accident by switching lanes without checking was jailed for four months yesterday at Tsuen Wan Court. Yiu Pui-tin, 42, who was earlier convicted of dangerous driving for causing the death of a dump truck driver in August last year, was also disqualified from driving for two years. Yiu had denied the charge but admitted his driving triggered the collision on the Kowloon-bound slow lane of Tsing Long Highway. The driver of the dump truck had been wearing a seat belt but was thrown out of the vehicle when the anchor point was torn away in the crash.
