Investment banker who is hands-on sought urgently

An investment banker who will thrive on the challenges of working with a newly established investment house, including hiring a team, will enjoy this job.

A holding company of a top 10 Chinese investment bank was established in Hong Kong earlier this year.

The company, with strong support from the mainland group, is filling a key position.

'The group has an outstanding, reputable name and a successful business history in the industry,' said Linda Hla, director of SuperSearch International.

A head of equity capital markets is sought to take a leading role in the firm's investment banking business originating in China and Hong Kong.

Applicants should be MBA or CFA holders with at least 10 years of relevant experience in an international investment bank and be true 'hands-on' types. The appointee will be responsible for managing client relationships and identifying potential clients, and transactions in the primary and secondary equity markets.

'This role is important as it is a leader of business development for the company's investment banking team.

'[The position] plays as a window into the company's business development for investment banking business,' Ms Hla said, noting that someone who was immediately available was preferred.

One of the first tasks will be to hire three to five staff for a team. The incumbent should view starting from scratch as a highlight.

Ms Hla is looking for an enthusiastic character with a proven track record in origination and execution of equity capital market transactions in Asia.
