A big draw

Comics take many forms, especially if they are much loved. So it will come as no surprise to fans of Alfonso Wong's Old Master Q that the cartoon, first serialised in 1964 and still in publication, is featured on a baroque-style chair in The Luxe Manor, a boutique hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui whose interiors mix Oriental and European decor to surreal effect. The chair (above, on left), upholstered in fabric patterned with the cartoon, was designed by Wong's architect son and successor, Joseph Wong Chak, who now handles the comic strip's branding from Taipei.
