What is hot this summer?

Skinny is hot for boys. Tight tops and skinny trousers made of elastic materials are in. But if you are big or muscular, try a tailored style instead. Shirt and waistcoat are hot picks. You can match it with less formal jeans and sneakers to create your own look.

Sporty styles are definitely hot for girls. But instead of zip-up jackets, girls can pick feminine tops made of soft material, such as body-hugging knitwear. Add gold and metallic details, such as sequins.

What accessories are in?

Sunglasses are hot this summer. Go for sporty and futuristic sunglasses with thick, plastic frames. Traditional sunglasses with a dark blue tint and brown tint are a popular choice. Enhance your outfit with necklaces or other accessories. You can get a detachable chain and attach it to your shirt to create variations.

Do you have any tips for young shoppers?

Local brand names are the best buy for young people, especially students, because they are affordable and follow trends in Japan. But the most important fact you should remember is that clothing is functional. You should get clothing that's comfortable rather than just fashionable. For example, if you don't feel comfortable in skinny trousers, don't

get them.

Where can young people get fashion ideas?

Pay attention to how people dress on the street. Although they are not professionals in the fashion industry, you could find someone's way of dressing a pleasant surprise. There are no fixed formulas in fashion. Even fashion magazines are limited references. Everyone should come up with their own style.

Do's

Be creative and bold. Boys in Hong Kong are quite conservative and even boring. They just wear T-shirts and jeans. Japanese boys' outfits are much more interesting.

Don'ts

Don't stick to expensive brand names. Try to mix and match with local brands. Inexpensive clothing does not mean old-fashioned or cheap.
