H2O Audio Series for iPod

What is it? The best way to be noticed in the pool or at the beach this summer is by using H2O Audio's waterproof cover and headphones for the Apple iPod.

How does it work? The robust plastic housing sports something called a LachTight locking system, which renders the unit waterproof. A SealTight connector joins the headphones to the housing, keeping the audio connection dry. A scroll wheel is located on the front of the housing and fits directly over the iPod's click wheel, giving complete control of the iPod's functions.

Tell me more. The H2O Audio Series provides waterproofing for either the iPod nano, fifth generation or shuffle at depths of up to three metres. The waterproof headphones are designed to withstand rigorous water workouts and snowboarding.

Why do I need one? Imagine kayaking out to a remote island or surfing at dawn to your favourite tunes.

What's the downside? The housing is waterproof only when combined with H2O Audio waterproof headphones, which are sold separately. Seals typically last a year but are replaceable. Always perform a leak test before using the product and remember: the silicone seal must be kept free of sand, dirt and other debris.

Where can I find one? The waterproof housing and an extreme sports armband together cost from US$39.95 (shuffle) to US$89.95 (video iPod). Headphones cost US$39.95. See www.h20audio.com for international stockists or order online from the Asia online distributor at www.trinity.jp, which will deliver to Hong Kong.
