Law student to stand trial over exam forgery claims

A University of Hong Kong law student will stand trial in District Court for allegedly forging his examination results slips. Cheng Sing-ho, 23, who has been released on bail, entered no plea yesterday to five charges at Eastern Court. Cheng has been accused of forging three exam results slips and using two of them between June 2004 and January of last year to fool university faculty members. He also is accused of using a false letter from a property management company to support his claim he missed an exam because he was trapped in a lift. The case was adjourned to June 22.

Four arrested over drug seizures

Police arrested four males, including a 15-year-old, and seized suspected drugs after intercepting two cars in Chai Wan and Lam Tin. The boy and a man, 20, were arrested at a road block on Lin Tak Road, Lam Tin, at 2.05am. Police said suspected illegal drugs were found. The two have been released on bail. In the other case, officers arrested two men, 21 and 26, and seized suspected cocaine in their car in Wan Tsui Lane, Chai Wan, on Monday. They were being held for questioning.

Victim of three-way crash dies

A 66-year-old woman injured in a crash involving an eight-seat van, a car and a truck on the Ting Kau Bridge on Sunday died in Princess Margaret Hospital. Police have asked anyone with information to call 3661 1344 or 3661 1300.

Bacteria close pool

Sham Shui Po Park swimming pool was closed for cleaning after bacteria levels rose above prescribed limits. Officials said it would reopen when water quality returned to normal.

Boy hit by truck

A seven-year-old boy was in serious condition after being hit by a truck on Gascoigne Road, Yau Ma Tei, at about 1.30pm.

No one won the HK$33,000,000 first prize in last night's draw. The numbers were 7, 30, 31, 41, 45 and 47. The extra number was 4. Three tickets each won second prize of HK$1,461,170. Third paid HK$52,415.
