In case you care, animal rights group Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is running its annual internet poll for sexiest vegetarian celebrity. Although there is no specific category for different races, Peta's local chapter is fervently charting who is in the running for the sexiest veggie Asian.

According to their most recent tally, the frontrunners in the month-long poll are actress Maggie Q (Quigley) - currently in Japan promoting Die Hard 4 (left, with co-star Bruce Willis) - and Taiwanese star Barbie Hsu Hsi-huan, who are neck and neck. Closely trailing are Filipino-Lebanese singer Yasmien Kurdi and Bollywood starlets Mahima Chaudhry and Hema Malini. Among the men, Indian legend Amitabh Bachchan is leading and appears not to have much competition.

'There are no bones about it - a vegetarian diet makes you beautiful inside and out,' said Peta's China co-ordinator Coco Yu, spouting the company line. Non-Asians in the overall race include Carrie Underwood, Chris Martin, Tobey Maguire and Natalie Portman.
