What drives it? A 6761cc, twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a six-speed automatic gearbox that has a semi-automatic function. There wasn't an opportunity to try the sports mode, but the power-assisted, speed-sensitive steering system is excellent; the micro-alloy ventilated discs perform well in Hong Kong conditions; and the double wishbone independent suspension is all you'd expect from Bentley.

How fast is it? Vrooms 450-brake horsepower at 4,100rpm and whacks out 875N at 1,800rpm. That's 100km/h of whoosh in six seconds. We never neared 270km/h tops, your honour.

How safe is it? You can bullet-proof it, if you want.

How thirsty is it? Drinks like a fish at 28.8 litres/100km (9.8 mpg) in town but fortunately has a 96-litre tank - and good manners.

How clean is it? 465g/km of CO2.

Availability: HK$5.88 million at Bentley Hong Kong (tel: 2890 1918).
